Flex Star Roofing System

Nov 03, 2021

We are discussing the Flex-Star Roofing system. Five Star uses this system on all different to cover any existing commercial roof. The Flex-Star system has the following advantages

It is seamless. The most common reason for roof leaks is seam failure. FLEX-STAR forms a monolithic roof, meaning that it has no seams or gaps. This eliminates the possibility of seam failure and leaks. It is self-flashing. Flex-Star is lightweight, flexible and fully adhered to all surfaces thereby eliminating flashing collapse.

The Flex-Star System is tough, flexible & lightweight. Flex-Star is able to withstand even the most extreme variations of temperature and the resulting thermal shock while adding less than the weight of 1/8" of water to the roof.

Our system contains No hot asphalt, no flames, no noxious fumes! Flex-Star is practically odorless and is safe to install for customer and contractor alike.

Flex-Star takes less than half as long to install as most other roofing systems! The reflective qualities of the PLUS ONE & PLUS TWO systems significantly reduce the energy consumed by air-conditioning systems. Our system is a major energy saver. Tear off is rarely required with the Flex-Star System. Even the most deteriorated roofing systems can usually be reroofed with the Flex-Star system with minimal tear off.

Flex-Star utilizes no gravel or ballast to conceal problems or damage. The system is very easy to maintain after install. No disturbance of operations or employees. The quick, quiet Flex-Star installation process eliminates operation interruptions to your business. There is a Flex-Star system to cover any existing roof including flat gravel roofs, smooth surface systems, single ply systems, barrel roofs, and metal roof panels.

FLEX STAR FIBERED/NON-FIBERED ALUMINUM ROOF COATING Flex Star’s aluminum roof coating is designed to apply over multiple new or existing roof types Flex Sta r aluminum roof coating is more reflective than other similar roof coatings, the bright aluminum finish reflects damaging heat and UV radiation to prolong the service life of the roofing system. Aluminum coatings reduce the peak design cooling loads of a typical roof by up to 45% on a sunny July day, which could result in a savings of about $2.80 per square during the first cooling season. Over 20 years, counting energy savings, re-coating costs, escalation, etc., based upon the heat flow calculations, it has been estimated that the total savings over a dark roof are about $100 per square. These savings do not count the savings in capital investment through the down- sizing of the air-conditioning equipment because of the reduced cooling load. The asphalt in our aluminum roof coating are protected from harmful intense rays of the sun by the reflective properties of the al uminum. Because most of the sun’s rays are reflected by this aluminum barrier, it prevents these oils from being “baked” out of the base coating. • Prevents the sun’s UV rays from penetrating the roof coating. • Bonds tenaciously to the base material. • Offers excellent weathering characteristics and will not prematurely crack or dry out. • Offers a brilliant reflective barrier which should last for years. • Non-destructive to asphalt based roofing membranes.
